In the everything-virtual world of this past year, digital content creators have worked to find some sense of normal by learning to collaborate in a productive way without ever setting foot in a studio or office.
Why did we need to continue making? Because consumers never paused their conversations. Whether with brands or our extended personal networks, social media has been the connective tissue that bonds us all. Having relevant conversations with consumers has never been more important, and that relevance is defined by content that acknowledges our shared challenges in an honest way.
One of the topics that

In our continuing series of examining Google Search Trends to gain insights into the top keywords queried in the USA, we present our findings for October 2020.
Every day, we capture the top three keyword phrases in terms of search volume as reported by Google Trends (US Only). Each term has an estimated query volume attached to it, which we also record. The number scale tops out at 10,000,000+ with a lower limit of 200,000+. After the conclusion of the month, we look at the phrases we collected along with their volumes to get an understanding of what drove queries

There’s little doubt that, like many things in politics, different Americans watching Saturday evening’s speeches from President-elect Joe Biden and Vice President-elect Kamala Harris had different emotions. But as we turn the corner from an unprecedented moment in our history, communicators have a chance to seize on the tone of the incoming President as they look to pivot their strategies.
Let’s face it. Corporate America has been walking on eggshells for weeks. Executives have been toeing the fine line between the need to communicate to employees and external audiences and the valid concern of stirring up the ire of

I’ve been standing at this question, which was kind of challenging for me: how can I answer such a question? Is it sufficient for me to say information about myself and / or others? Do I have to mention my past, my successes, and the obstacles I encountered?
In the coaching profession, we often encounter something interesting, and we are curious. These questions are different; our mind sometimes responds to them in the same way. We sometimes find ourselves in front of a dilemma where we are unable to find a solution. It is better to

Changes in our lives and work are often unexpected and sometimes planned. In either case, success depends on the ability to generate behavioral shifts that will maximize the positive benefits from the change. Easier said than done!
You may have heard about the importance of “why” and suggestions to actively communicate the benefits of change. If people understand the purpose and benefits of a particular change, then we could logically assume that they’d align with it, right?
Yet, look around you. Even aware of the benefits, how many people actually follow a healthy lifestyle? How many of you have noticed

In companies with a high level of internal recruiting, employees stick around 41 percent longer than employees at companies that do little hiring from within.

Coaches at any stage of their training and professional career know the strength and beauty of this question. I like this question very much and find it delicious. Yes, as you read, I find it delicious – for two main reasons:
1. The simplicity of the question.
2. The depth this question goes to in a session.
Trained coaches remember how this question accompanied them. Sometimes we think that when we say several things or goals, we think that we must stop because there is nothing else. Then the question comes and opens before us springs

Consciously working with purpose is a life goal of mine, so the opportunity to work on Atlantic Health System’s “Ask Her” breast cancer awareness campaign, especially during this pandemic, resonated deeply. What is the right stance for an employer to take during an election? A generation ago, the answer was easy: none. Politics was something you left in the parking lot, and voting was something you did on the way to work or on the way home.
In the age of engagement, those barriers have fallen. With few exceptions, companies won’t openly take sides in the national contest, but they can’t ignore it, either. Leaders are often incredibly busy. Their role in a change project is essential, and at the same time, their calendar is often filled with essential responsibilities that extend beyond the change initiative.
For Sheila Fain, CEO of LaMarsh Global, coaching is an opportunity to “explore information and perspectives they may not otherwise reflect on.”
Change practitioners can identify risks, potential outcomes, and options. And by asking questions and actively listening, their coaching contributes to leaders making the best decision they can from the information available and what the leader knows about the organization.

Each year, many companies, organizations and brands observe the period between September 15 and October 15 as Hispanic Heritage Month—an annual monthlong homage to the Latinx community.
In years past, this observance was marked by brand promotions, large-scale concerts and content designed to celebrate and recognize Latinx “cultura.” Although these activations—whether large or small—have been intended to honor the Latinx community, they’ve often unintentionally perpetuated a stereotype. What’s often gone missing with the typical focus on food and music, with the occasional Latinx superstar or athlete mixed in as a spokesperson, is the recognition that this audience is a compilation

Whistles blow (then are quickly sanitized), sneakers screech an ex-ballroom-parquet, and broadcasters emphatically argue a holding call from thousands of miles away, but sports are back.
As it has with many other industries, COVID has spurred innovation and creative problem solving this summer in the sports world, leading to the delivery of some atypical but surprisingly engaging broadcast demonstrations. Just as in-game atmospheres have grown with the times (gone is the cigarette-smoke filled old Boston Garden where an NHL player once beat a fan with his own shoe), so too must the elements of broadcast. Change practitioners often work with people involved with a change: the leaders responsible for or sponsoring a change, and the people that might be impacted by the change (which can often include the leaders).
Even though these are two distinct groups of people with different roles and responsibilities, change practitioners can consider using a coaching approach for both groups.
Coaching strategies are the same when working with leaders or with employees impacted by change, says Judy Searle, Director of Consulting Services at LaMarsh Global. The conversations or communications have to be adapted to the audience,
